GREEN BAY The 49ers recently fell to the Green Bay Packers 38-10. The 49ers’ grades for this performance are shown here. Backquarter: C-Minus In addition to playing with a splint on the middle finger of his non-throwing hand, Brandon Allen was respectable given that he hadn’t started a game in three years. He made some good tosses in spite of his ailment and rust. However, he also made two mistakes. Perhaps he would have kept those balls if his finger hadn’t been shattered. He threw an interception as well. Because Joshua Dobbs can scramble and has ten healthy fingers, he would have given the 49ers a greater opportunity to win than Allen. I’m not claiming the 49ers would have won if Dobbs had started.
