Despite retiring from most activities due to health concerns, Neil Diamond’s music continues to thrive worldwide. Fans are still purchasing and streaming his songs, which has recently pushed him back into a significant position on one of the world’s biggest music charts.

This week, Diamond’s classic hit “Sweet Caroline” returns to the U.K. songs chart, landing at No. 55 on the all-genre list of the country’s most-consumed tracks. It’s the top returning song on the chart, with only Quavo and Lana Del Rey’s “Tough” debuting higher, at No. 32.

Three other songs make chart comebacks this week, but Diamond surpasses them all. Noah Kahan’s “You’re Gonna Go Far,” Fat Les’ “Vindaloo,” and Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves’ “I Remember Everything” also re-enter the U.K. songs chart, yet none can outdo “Sweet Caroline,” even though it’s been around for decades.

“Sweet Caroline” remains Diamond’s longest-charting hit in the U.K., now marking 23 appearances on the chart. The song continues to re-enter the rankings every few years, with increasing frequency recently.
