Sources: Bronny James to Begin Split Between Lakers and G League After Upcoming Trip
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Lakers rookie Bronny James is expected to join the team for their upcoming road trip from Oct. 28 to Nov. 6 before starting to alternate between the Lakers’ active roster and their South Bay G League affiliate, sources told ESPN on Friday.
In Tuesday’s season opener, the Lakers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, marking the historic debut of LeBron and Bronny James as the NBA’s first father-son duo to play together. The Lakers face the Phoenix Suns on Friday night (10 p.m. ET, ESPN) at Crypto.com Arena, then host the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, before heading out to Phoenix, Cleveland, Toronto, Detroit, and Memphis.
LeBron played 11 of his first 21 NBA seasons with the Cavaliers. He was entering his second season with the team when Bronny was born on October 6, 2004, in Akron, Ohio, adding significance to the James family’s upcoming return there next Wednesday.
