Edgar Le and his twin are the subject of rumors that Dinamo Bucharest denies.
In a formal statement, Dinamo Bucharest vehemently refuted the claims that his own brother had impersonated their player Edgar Le. According to the statement, “It is a false, slanderous, and cancerous attack against the club,”
On Monday, Dinamo Bucharest dismissed as fraudulent reports claiming that Edgar Miguel Ie’s twin brother, Edelino, had replaced him in the team. The club announced plans to take legal action against those responsible for spreading the false information.
In a statement, the team called the rumor “a fake, slanderous, and toxic attack” on the club, following social media speculation that Edelino had impersonated his brother during Sunday’s match against FC UTA Arad in Romania’s top division.
Dinamo also rejected media reports suggesting that Edelino, not Edgar, had joined the club last February from Feyenoord in Turkey. The Romanian club emphasized that Edgar’s signing was handled by a reputable European sports agency, ensuring full transparency and legal compliance.
Dinamo explained that Edgar Miguel Ie’s transfer included an “international transfer certificate issued by the Turkish Federation, verified by the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) and FIFA,” and was registered by the Professional Football League (LPF). Additionally, he received a registration certificate from the General Immigration Inspectorate (IGI).
The story began when a Romanian journalist noted that the player had difficulty speaking English and only communicated in Portuguese, despite having previously played in Spain, France, Turkey, and the Netherlands. In response, Dinamo confirmed that they were pursuing legal action against the journalist for causing significant damage to the club’s reputation.
Edgar Miguel Ie is a 30-year-old Portuguese footballer who joined Sporting CP at age 14 in 2008 and later played for Barcelona’s reserve team in 2012. He has also played for Nantes.
