Red Bull Senior Advisor Makes a Strong Statement About Sergio Perez’s Future.

Red Bull senior advisor Helmut Marko has issued an ultimatum regarding Sergio Perez’s future with the team, just days after junior driver Daniel Ricciardo was let go following the Singapore Grand Prix due to performance issues.

Perez has had a challenging season, frequently criticized for his lackluster results after failing to finish in the top three since the Chinese Grand Prix. Although recent reports have pointed to balance issues with the RB20 F1 car as a contributing factor, Perez has often been held responsible for his declining performance.

The Mexican driver signed a two-year contract extension with Red Bull in June, ensuring his place for the remainder of the season despite ongoing speculation about his potential departure. However, after the first five Grands Prix, rumors about his exit resurfaced.

Max Verstappen has been instrumental in keeping Red Bull at the top of the Constructors’ Championship, but McLaren took the lead after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Red Bull might have retained its position if Perez had performed better throughout the season. With just six races left, the 34-year-old is under increasing pressure to improve.

Marko noted that Perez’s inconsistency has significantly impacted Red Bull’s performance. He shared his thoughts with RTL/ntv and sport.de, as reported by PlanetF1.
