Ohio State football history: What is former fullback Branden Joe up to these days?

Ohio State football has faced Marshall twice, with the most notable game occurring in 2004, when the Buckeyes clinched a 24-21 win thanks to a 54-yard field goal by Mike Nugent with just 17 seconds remaining.

In that season, fullback Branden Joe participated in 10 games, starting against Iowa and in OSU’s Alamo Bowl victory over Oklahoma State. He rushed 50 times for 162 yards and a touchdown, primarily focusing on blocking for quarterback Troy Smith and running backs Lydell Ross and Antonio Pittman.

Joe also dedicated part of his career to creating opportunities for tailbacks Maurice Clarett and Maurice Hall. The Westerville native believed it was essential to help others achieve success.
