REPORT: A Startling NL Team Is Interested in Trading for Guardians Stars
Both outfielder Lane Thomas and first baseman Josh Naylor are already attracting interest from the Cleveland Guardians, who are reportedly open to selling both players. The Cincinnati Reds have reportedly “kicked the tires” on Naylor and Thomas, according to Gordon Wittenmeyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer. This suggests that the Reds have at least looked into a possible trade that would send one or both sluggers to Cincinnati.
Nick Krall, the president of the Reds squad, refrained from claiming that the organization was aggressively pursuing either player. “We would discuss players, trades, and free agents with everyone,” Krall stated. After the upcoming season, both Thomas and Naylor will be free agents, and considering the Guardians’ historically thrifty approach, it would be prudent for Cleveland to assess trade interest in both players.
