Uzoho in shock move to quit Super Eagles

Super Eagles first-choice goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, could be set to step aside from international football.

According to OwnGoalNigeria, Uzoho is considering a break from playing from Nigeria. The stopper has already deactivated some of his social media accounts following abuse and criticisms he has endured recently.

Uzoho has been under fire since when the goal he conceded saw Ghana qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar ahead of the Eagles.

In recent matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, the Omonia goalkeeper has also been culpable, as the three-time African champions embark on a quest to play at the 2026 World Cup.

Both qualifying games have ended 1-1. Uzoho is now thinking of staying away from the limelight to protect himself and his family.
