Selling Osimhen will be emotional Napoli Chief De Laurentiis
Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis admitted that selling Victor Osimhen will be very emotional for him and the club.
The Nigerian striker has a release clause of around €120-€130m in the new contract he signed last summer but is expected to leave the reigning Serie A champions in the summer as Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City
and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly lining up a move for the striker.
“Osimhen has a release clause. That’s a lot of money. Money is Napoli’s latest problem,” De Laurentiis said at the FT’s Football Business Summit:
“We have always made good purchases and will continue to do so in the future.
“The problem is only sentimental, only
emotional, because every time a player leaves it’s like saying goodbye to a child, but at the same time you’re happy even when he achieves success else where.”
The 25-year-old has scored 11 goals in 15 league appearances for the Partenopei this season.
