It is important to know the acronyms of these mobile networks, since we use those networks on our smart phone and other electronic gadgets. So, in this post, we will show you the full meaning.
Note: G stands for Generation.
5G – means Fifth Generation Networks.
It is the fastest cellular network technology ever developed. The main advantage of 5G networks is that they will have greater bandwidth, giving higher download speeds of about 19 times higher than 4G.
4G – means Fourth Generation wireless networks.
Its connection speed is about 10 times faster than 3G networks, The high speed of this technology enables 4G compatible device to connect to the internet like 10 times faster than 3G as stated earlier. It was launched in United Kingdom in the year 2012.
3G – This is the Third Generation cellular networks.
It’s the mobile telecommunications technology upgrade for 2G GPRS networks.
2G – is the Second Generation of mobile networks which replaced the 1G networks.
2G networks were launched on the GSM standard. These networks support internet connection, but its very limited. 2G networks started in Finland in 1990, and later introduced in different parts of the world.
1G – Network: This is the First Generation mobile networks.
1G networks are the analog telecommunications standards launched in the 1980, and later introduced in different parts of the world. This network was introduced before the other networks but its very limited and restricted.
